1. Kalpana Chawla Childhood Kalpana Chawla

was born on 1 July 1961 in Karnal district of Haryana state, India. His father's name is Banarasi Lal and mother's name is Sanjyoti. There were a total of 4 siblings in his family, the youngest of whom was Kalpana. His father had thought of making him a teacher and doctor since childhood. But Kalpana had decided to become an engineer from 8th pass itself. His mother helped Kalpana a lot in realizing her dream of becoming an engineer. 

2.Kalpana Chawla Education

Kalpana dreamed of traveling in space since her childhood. After passing 8th, Kalpana decided to become an engineer. Started engineering college from Punjab Aerospace Engineering Branch. Just from here his dream started coming true. Then he never looked back. She kept on moving towards her success. Kalpana Chawla took admission in 1982 to do a master's course in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. He successfully passed the Aerospace Engineering Master's degree in 1984. 

3. Kalpana Chawla Astronaut Life 

Kalpana Chawla's career in space began in the year 1988 at the Ames Research Center of America NASA. He started working as Vice President at NASA's Overseas Methods Inc. Kalpan Chawla also did research on V/Stol CFD here. Kalpana had also obtained the post of Honorary Flight Superintendent to license the aircraft. 

4. Kalpana Chawla's First Space Voyage Kalpana Chawla 

's first space journey started from the STS-87 Columbia Space Shuttle. The time period of this space journey was from 19 November 1997 to 5 December. Kalpana Chawla's second space flight and final flight started on 16 January 2003 from the Columbia Space Shuttle. It was a 16-day space journey. A total of 80 test experiments were done in this mission journey together with his and his companions. 

5. How Kalpana Chawla Died Kalpana

 Chawla took the last mother-in-law on 1 February 2003 while coming back from space. In the early morning of 1 February 2003, his spacecraft was about to land at the Dream Center in Colombia, but a piece of insulin attached size that controls the temperature of his vehicle was broken. And the shuttle's thermal protection system had suffered a major blow. Which protects its shuttle from overheating. As the shuttle passed through the atmosphere, it was filled with hot air. Due to which the vehicle became very hot. Due to which the shuttle started moving round and round. In the end it broke into several pieces. It was all done in less than 1 minute. All the passengers in the vehicle died. Had this accident stopped even for 16 minutes, all the passengers would have gotten off safely. A total of 7 people including Kalpana Chawla were killed in this accident. He was made for space somewhere, spent every moment for space. I will die for this too. This promise proved to be true for him. This incident happened during Kalpana Chawla's second space journey at the age of 41.

6.Kalpana Chawla Husband  

Kalpana Chawla's husband's name is Ja Pierre Harrison. Both of them met while studying for their engineering degree in America. They were very close friends at that time. Both are very serious about their work. Thus this friendship turned into love. Both got married on 2 December 1983. After her marriage, her childhood dream was fulfilled in
